When Max was about 5-6 years old, he got his first Commodore 64 and immediately games were his passion. He started programming when he was 7 and loved to create gaming experiences. In that early days he made some text based adventures for the fun of it and later created & scripted custom levels for Duke Nukem 3D (the 1996’s one).

Max went to school and then studied business informatics. In his teenage years he was a web developer taking part in creating the first websites of e.g. Deutsche Bank or Motorola back in the 90's. Also he looked into the areas of human resource management, as well as the private equity industry.

After studying, Max became an IT management consultant and worked his way up from working student to the position of Associate Director within 5 years. After that he continued on that path for several more years. During his consulting days he consulted the CxO and upper management levels of international corporations. It entails a humble but yet proud feeling for Max, that every single project he he took responibility for reached its defined goals or succeeded them.

In the years following, , Max co-founded a startup in the area of eRecruitment.

During all that time games continued to be one of Max' passions. So in 2013 he started Squad Loft - to build up a collective of game making creatives making games and delivering services in the field together. Out of this grew a consulting portfolio ranging from classical businesses to game related services which also covers the intersection of those areas in forms like Game Thinking for business application.

Today Max is based in Heidelberg (Germany), still consulting and gamewise the lead producer, game director and programmer for Sombrero Tactics.
