(We don’t let go of our keyboards until this space is filled)
What is a world (cosmos)? What makes a (virtual) world feel alive and meaningful? Drawing on philosophical research into the nature of world-hood we present our cosmological framework to guide and enhance your world-building processes.
The fundamental idea: a world is a web of meaning and reference, a net of relations. Without meaning, we are just faced with literally meaningless space and isolated objects – immersion impossible. Rather than for spaces we are looking for places: places to go, places to do stuff, places of danger, places of commerce etc. Similarly mere objects mean nothing to us, objects need to be embedded in a web of reference, they need to have a use, a history, a value. Our cosmological framework allows us to analyse or design your world to make sense on the relevant dimensions. You will see your world with new eyes…
